Paula" data box

All locomotives - one system

The NRail telematics system offers live transmission, recording and provision of operating data from rail vehicles - regardless of manufacturer and model series - and thus enables rail transport companies to take a major step towards digitizing their operations.

The data can be viewed from anywhere via the web in a clearly presented format in our telematics portal at iot.nrail.de. The telematics portal is also smartphone-optimized for use on mobile devices. Thanks to an extensive API, the operating data can also be integrated into other systems.

Further advantages with the NRail telematics system:

Cold start detector to prevent creeping engine failure in diesel engines
Monitoring of the on-board voltage to prevent deep battery discharges
Reduce the proportion of engine idling by recording idle times with the engine running
Detection of towing trips by separately recording the mileage on the driver's cab display and on the wheel
Trip history analysis
Possibility to analyze crashes and exceptional events thanks to particularly precise data in these cases
The associated hardware (the "Paula" data box) was specially developed for this purpose.
It is certified in accordance with DIN EN 50155:218 (including product safety, fire protection, CE, etc.), can be used immediately on all rail vehicles and is installed on the vehicle on the track without the need for a workshop visit.

Over 400 vehicles are already equipped with "Paula" (as of February 2024).

In addition to the standard version, the modular industrial design also offers the option of connecting additional sensors via analog and digital inputs, depending on customer requirements.
